ਨਵੀਂ authority ਲੈ ਕੇ truck ਚਲਾਉਣਾ excitement ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣਾ MC, ਆਪਣਾ truck, ਆਪਣਾ business — feeling ਵੱਖਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ trucking ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਖਤਰਨਾਕ ਗਲਤੀ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ rate ਘੱਟ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ। ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ driver ਜਾਂ owner-operator ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ cost per mile ਹੀ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
Load board ਤੇ $2.50, $2.80 ਜਾਂ $3.00 per mile ਦੇਖ ਕੇ load ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੇ fuel, deadhead, insurance, truck payment, repairs, factoring fee ਅਤੇ next reload market calculate ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਾਂ load profit ਨਹੀਂ — trap ਵੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Rate ਤੇ profit ਇਕੋ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ

- Deadhead to pickup: 80
- Delivery ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ reload ਲਈ deadhead: 120
- Total actual miles: 1,100
- Diesel: $5.35/gallon
- Truck MPG: 6.5
Fuel cost: 1,100 ÷ 6.5 = 169.23 gallons. 169.23 × $5.35 = $905.38 fuel.
ਜੇ load $2,500 pay ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ fuel ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ $1,594.62 ਬਚਿਆ। ਪਰ ਇਹ profit ਨਹੀਂ। ਹੁਣ insurance, truck payment, maintenance, tolls, factoring, food, parking, ELD, permits ਅਤੇ driver pay ਵੀ ਕੱਢਣੇ ਨੇ।
ਨਵੀਂ authority ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ careful ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ
New authority ਵਾਲੇ carriers ਲਈ problems ਵੱਖਰੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ: insurance ਮਹਿੰਗੀ, brokers ਦਾ trust ਘੱਟ, factoring terms weak, fuel discount ਘੱਟ, best loads ਹਰ ਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੇ, payment delay cash flow ਤੋੜ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ truck repairs ਲਈ reserve ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

ਜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ total cost $2.25/mile ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ $2.30/mile load profit ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ survival ਹੈ।
